Warning:

Avoid any human-processed & cooked food with salt/seasonings, almonds, wet and dry dog/cat food as it contains taurine which is damaging your little hamsters nervous system and tummy.

Dosage of feed:

Dry food

One teaspoon every 2-3 days, don’t overfill the bowl with food as the hamster is stocking up, so it may seem that the food is disappearing from the bowl, but the hamster just hid it – check the house where it carries supplies, old food should remove to avoid its contamination and deterioration, which could result in hamster disease. You can also scatter the feed mix around the box so the hamster forages for it.

Treats & vegetables

Serve either option only once per week eg. one week you give one dried shrimp/hamster, the 2nd week a 1/4 of a salad cucumber slice(no pickled cucumbers, please), 3rd week small piece of cooked chiecken breast, 4th week a small piece of nut etc.

During the hot summer months, it is necessary to change the water in the water bowl more often, 1-2 times a week, because hamsters prefer it colder to cool down (not ice cold water, please). You can of course use a ceramic or glass bowl, but make sure it is not placed in the bedding, otherwise the beddng ends up in the water and you end up with a lot of cleaning and a thirsty hamster. Make sure any bowl you use has a solid/heavy bottom so that the little hamster couldn‘t knock it over and hurt itself.

If you have any questions, I will happily answer them in the F.A.Q section.
