Nintendo nowadays introduced Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the next spin-off video game within the Pokémon collection, which is being launched in January next year, for the Nintendo Switch console. This game claims to head in a completely new direction via “fusing action & RPG elements” and will take the Pokémon players into the open-world areas which we have already managed to experience before in the Sword and Shield series.

Arceus is likely one of the biggest Pokémon games to date, being an RPG set in the Sinnoh region. It interestingly takes place sometime in Sinnoh’s past, before the actual existence of Pokémon trainers — though we have seen in the trailer that we’ll still accept some form of a different type of role and you can still trap wild Pokémon in an early version of what seems to be a PokéBall.

The player will set out to actualize and complete the vicinity’s Pokédex through catching, analyzing, and gaining knowledge of the wild Pokémon that live there. According to the game’s official website, you can also trap wild Pokémon using the above-mentioned predecessor of the modern PokéBall.

There is also a mention of an online multiplayer mode, but more details about this are still unknown and need to be verified. Most likely it will be similar to what we have seen in the past in Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee series and will of course require a paid online membership outside of trading via your local network with another console nearby.
